Thoughts on a football player “coming out”

Being a woman…I know that the sport of football is an extremely masculine driven force. I get that. However, just because a player prefers men over women does not mean that his performance on the field is going to be anything short of what it was before “coming out”. In my years of watching football and the people with whom I’m surrounded by as I watch it, it seems to me that all that matters is making sure the home team obtains a victory.

So if a player is always on time for practice, does what he is suppose to do 100% every time and helps gain a win for his team, it shouldn’t matter who he prefers to go home with at party that would take place after a big game. What should matter is not having a team fall apart because they are scared of the possibility of being hit on. That kind of paranoia is stupid, childish, and says a lot about character or lack there of. From what I remember hearing in high school from friends of mine who were on the school’s team…A football team is like a family. Teams have put up with guys who have much WORSE habits than sleeping with the same sex.

(Irving, Vick, Lynch, Tank Johnson and Pacman Jones….just to name a few.)

This is my last statement on this discussion for now fellas….remember….a player could get HIV or an STD just as easily from a FEMALE (GROUPIE) who’s probably been around quite a few teams as a man could get from sleeping with other men.

Just something to think about before passing judgment.

PUNK’ed!!!

Well…I must give ultimate props to CM Punk for establishing himself as an asset that Vince McMahon absolutely CANNOT afford to lose and won’t lose.  Because of Punk speaking his mind two weeks ago, he has become this generation’s Stone Cold Steve Austin.

And this past Raw…Vince…let’s face it…you got PUNK’ed!!!

On a side note: I have to admit…the confrontation between Cena and McMahon last week, it was absolutely amazing. It not only gave us the incentive that Cena could possibly lose to Punk…but we got to see Cena make Vince his B!@TCH!  All great stuff up until of course McMahon had to put in the last word with saying that if Punk leaves Chicago with the World Title then Cena is fired.

Vince…come on.  Just because we are fans DOES NOT MEAN we are stupid or F*CKIN’ STUPID.  We all know that Cena will NEVER be fired.  He can crap on your desk and f*ck your wife right infront of you and he STILL won’t be touched.  Know why? Because the amount of fans and money Cena brings in for the company on a regular basis, he is a cash cow that the WWE cannot afford to slaughter.  And now, Punk is going to be offered everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink in order to guarantee him staying with the company.

Vince may think he’s got these guys by the b@lls…but in the end…it’s the cash cows that have HIM by the b@lls.

To end this post, here is a little song:

Ta Ra Ra Boom Dee Ay, Did you get yours today? Vince got his on Monday, that’s why he walks that way!

Sincerely,

~Lady B from NYC~

The Whole Truth and nothing BUT the truth

On June 27th, 2011…CM Punk spoke for all the hardcore wrestling fans out in the world who have grown sick and tired of the PG crap that Vince and the WWE has been shoving down our throats.

Personally I do agree with Punk…I do not hate nor even dislike Cena.  BUT, what I do hate is that the WWE has made him out to look like the best guy they have PERIOD! Um…hello…there is a lockerroom filled with guys, NEW guys who may possess that talent that would grab fans all over’s attention, but noooooooo…the whole plan is to stick with only that small handful of guys and use them over and over and over again.

Ok…please forgive my crude example but it WILL make sense.  When a man and a woman are having sex…and the man ejaculates into the condom that is being used…does he just continue with what he’s doing and fill the condom up to capacity or until it finally breaks? NO! He takes himself out…takes it off…throws it away and puts on a new one to begin round two (If he’s able to go a round two at the moment.)  Cena at this point in my opinion has “busted enough nuts” and it’s high time that the WWE issue a “new condom”.  Not THROW Cena away, because let’s face it, he draws in a crowd of kids like The Backstreet Boys and NYSNC drew in teenie boppers.  What I’m simply saying is just give him a bit of a rest to rejuvinate.  Give the audience a chance to possibly MISS him and yearn for him.  And in doing this, give other guys a chance to prove themselves as to whether or not they have what it takes to be more than a friggin jobber.

TNA (Before Hogan and Bischoff turned it into a carbon copy of WCW) and ECW were the type of companies that gave those new guys a chance to prove themselves to the audience by WRESTLING! And what’s more is that THE CROWD determined whether or not that WRESTLER was up to the standards of what they felt made a great WRESTLER to enjoy and want to see again.  They were companies that actually gave a damn about what the people wanted and in turn of giving them what they want, they would earn more money from it because they put on a product that would bring people in.

The WWE head honchos have forgotten that it was WRESTLING that put the McMahon family on the map. They have forgotten that it was WRESTLING fans that put forth the money for merchandise and tickets to live events and for watching pay-per-views.  They have forgotten that it is because of WRESTLING that they have the life of luxury that they have.  And that without the WRESTLERS and the WRESTLING FANS…they would have NOTHING!

CM Punk on Monday with expressing his frustration about how feels he is not promoted enough, that despite proving himself over and over again that he’s main event material only to find himself teeter-tottering from Upscale to Mid-card and feeling over-looked…It’s completely understandable.  Because for years it has not been about WRESTLING anymore. It’s all about what’s the quickest way to get more money with doing the least amount of work.

All I have left to say is that Vince McMahon Sr. would be turning over in his grave three times if he could see what his son has done.  Granted, I have NOTHING against making money in other ways besides what you were doing originally.  What I am against is people finding ways to make more money and completely forgetting what it was that STARTED them in making money in the first place.  Taking the WRESTLING out of WWE…Vince has been pissing, shitting and spitting on his father, the company he built, what is stood for, and all the hardcore fans that were there from jump-street throughout the generations.  Kids today…they don’t understand what it means to see WRESTLING.  All they know is entertainment…a fuckin poor excuse for a soap opera.

It’s no wonder Shane has gone M.I.A.  I’d be embarrassed too if my dad took something that was loved by millions for decades and turned it into a mediocre after-school special!

A Familiar Face on Tough Enough!

Well well well…turns out that The Miz is not the only one who was going into Tough Enough as a familiar Reality TV star. 2011 Tough Enough contestant Jeremiah Riggs is actually not a stranger to television. About a year or so ago on VH1…there was a reality show called Daisy of Love. This was a show where you had reality star Daisy Del La Hoya; runner up from Rock of Love 2, trying to find the perfect guy for her. She gave all of her fellas nicknames and Dirty South Rep. Jeremiah was on this show known as Big Rig.

To tell you the truth…I didn’t truly recognize him until I got a real closeup of his face and tattoo on his hand of the spiked ball and chain. The main difference…is that in Daisy of Love, his head was shaven…and now he has got a full head of hair. Nice try there Big Rig…but I caught ya. You know what though…I got a good feeling about you. Everyone else that was introducing themselves in the ring tonight…I had my head in my hands for most of them. But as I said, I have a good feeling about you and I am declaring you as my pick for this season.

I wish you and the others the best of luck…because with these trainers you all got…you WILL be needing it.

Sincerely,
~Bianca C.~

WRESTLEMANIA XXVII REVIEW

Well…it is the day after Wrestlemania XXVII. I honestly have to say that I feel somewhat jipped in what I was watching. Granted there were a few moments where I couldn’t help but express total enjoyment…but a majority of the evening was very lukewarm. Not to say that the WWE didn’t try. I guess with The Rock being the host, we expected to see a bit more from THE GREAT ONE throughout the night besides getting smacked on the @$$ by Mae Young, getting Pee-Wee Herman to switch sides, dressing Mean Gene Oakerland in John Cena gear to make a point and then attaining a vendetta on Miz and Cena only in the last ten minutes of the evening. All in all though…I have to say that the night was…okay.

One thing I have to say I didn’t think would happen…is that the World Heavyweight Title match was the first match of the evening.  Champ Edge (w/Christan at ringside) vs. Alberto Del Rio (w/Brodus Clay at ringside). The match ended with Edge coming out victorious and retaining the world title. I have to give it to Del Rio though…for his first Wrestlemania, he put up one hell of a fight.  Even though it is still a bit too soon for him to hold a world title,it is safe to say that he is a breath of fresh air.  He gave it his all and that even though he lost the match, he wasn’t sore about it the way I know others in the locker room would have been. Even when Edge and Christian damaged his Rolls Royce…he kept his composure.  I’m sure though that once backstage he probably cried at the thought of what the bill would be like to fix what was done to it.

Another match that was pretty well done was Randy Orton vs. CM Punk.  After all the bullshit that has been exchanged back and forth between them, it was truly refreshing to see the two of them finally get their chance to square off.  What I have to say was positively ingenious, was when Orton played possum…and what’s beautiful was the fact that Orton caught Punk in the R.K.O. while he was in mid-air off the top rope.  Orton picking up the win…you can bet we won’t be hearing the last of Punk complaining.

Now…I have to honestly say that Snooki surprised me.  She pulled a couple of moves that I don’t think anyone thought she would be capable of doing.  In the end, Snooki wound up getting the pin on Michelle McCOOL, and The Brunette Mafia was victorious.

One thing I was extremely pissed about was the fact that after Jerry Lawler’s victory was overturned by the “anonymous RAW General Manager”.  The first Wrestlemania that Jerry Lawler has ever wrestled in and in the end, he gets screwed anyway.  Not to say that the match was not humorous…but i find it complete nonsense that they would do something like this to Lawler.  It is a total slap in the face and he does not deserve that after all the years he has put in this business.

Now of course…Taker verses Triple H…that match was the one that took the cake.  Who came out victorious? Well…just as his new theme song says, “There ain’t no grave can hold my body down!” TAKER has prevailed at 19-0! Both men certainly proved that their ambitions sustain no limit.  One thing’s for sure, I thank the both of them for destroying The Cole Mine.  You gentlemen gave one hell of a match and I just hope that Taker is alright because after the match, he seriously did not look good.  I have to say that I am surprised that Shawn Michaels did not interfere at all.  All in all, congrats to Taker on keeping the streak going!

The last match being John Cena versus The Miz for The WWE Championship…I have to say that it was a bit disappointing.  It ended in a double count out with The Miz retaining the title.  However, The Rock did come out and issue that the match restart because he felt that the people did not deserve the last match of the evening to end that way.  But…in restarting the match, he found a way to gain revenge for the assault that Cena and Miz bestowed on him the previous RAW.  First of course was John Cena getting the Rock Bottom, and then The Miz got the cover to retain the title.  However, that did not mean that The Rock was going to let Miz off the hook.  He went back into the ring and gave Miz a much deserved People’s Elbow.  Thus issuing he had “Final Word” for the evening.

Again…all in all…it could have been a much better evening.  To me, it had the capacity of a Backlash pay-per-view.

Being it is Monday…we will see who has something to say with regards to their match and how they feel it went.  Another thing that we have to look forward to is the fact that tonight is the first episode of TOUGH ENOUGH! Hosted by Stone Cold Steve Austin…I am anxious to see just how these 14 contestants will be able to handle training with The Texas Rattlesnake, Booker T, Bill Demot, and Trish Stratus.

To the contestants…I wish you loads of luck…and may the best individual win!

Sincerely,

~Bianca C.~

WWE Hits The Hard Rock!

Yesterday; March 30th, 2011, I along with my dear friend Hector Mendez, Jr. went to the Wrestlemania 27 Press Conference at The Hard Rock Cafe in Manhattan.  Besides being enriched with fellow press members and the superstars who would be gracing the grandest stage of them all come Sunday, the amount of fans eager to participate in this event was beyond an impressive turn out.  Once inside, the atmosphere became flooded with chants from each fan section. At certain points you even heard competitive chants from one side the other side such as “UNDETAKER!…..TRIPLE H!”  or the most favorite one of the afternoon, “LET’S GO CENA!…CENA SUCKS!”

However, despite the competitive chanting between each side of the room, the fans all united once Michael Cole came on the stage to start the press conference.  In all honesty, I’ve never heard such hatred and detest for a single person.  Being a member of the press I knew I had to keep my composure, but being a fan as well, I as well as Hector wanted to join in with the fans in jeering and shouting “JERRY! JERRY!”  Oh well…next time I am sure I will get the chance to freely be what I always have been; a fan.

First person to be introduced to the podium was Stephanie McMahon; who may I say looked positively gorgeous.  In talking about what Wrestlemania means to her, she made a very important point in stating that the very first Wrestlemania took place at Madison Square Garden.  The ovation within the room from all the proud fans was indescribable.  One thing I have to mention, is that at one point we heard a chant that had both me and Hector laughing so hard on the inside.  We heard a few people start a “Hogan Sucks!” chant, and from the look on Stephanie’s face was clearly not in disagreement.

Next to the stage was The Rated R Superstar Edge.  Here is a man who positively loves what he does for a living from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed; if he ever does get to go to bed.  In his speech he stated:

Wrestlemania in this time of year is my favorite time of year.  It’s Christmas, it’s Halloween, it means anything! This is Wrestlemania! For me…this is all I wanted to do…this is it!

This coming Sunday, Edge defends the World Title against newcomer Alberto Del Rio; who has stated on numerous occasions that he is destined to become the next World Heavyweight Champion.  In interviewing him, I asked him if he has a strategy in mind when it comes to facing Edge and this is what he had to say:

It’s just simple…I’m hungry. I’m here and this is the reason why I came here to this country. I left everything in Mexico; my family and my friends, everybody for this. For Wrestlemania, for the Royal Rumble, for the World Heavyweight Title, so I don’t need a strategy. I’m hungry and I’m ready for this.  And just like I’ve been saying for weeks, it is my destiny to be the new World Heavyweight Champ in Atlanta…

In watching him since his debut in late 2010, I can honestly say that Del Rio has a bright future in the WWE ahead of him.  I along with others who I know are fans of his wish him lots of luck in his championship match with Edge.

Next to be introduced was The WWE Champion; The Miz.  The crowd was very welcoming with chants of “AWESOME!” being echoed all across the room.  The Miz as we know came from humble beginnings.  Being on shows such as The Real World and TMZ and then going on to competing in Tough Enough; not too many people could say that they believed he would succeed in professional wrestling.  Boy did he prove all his doubters wrong.  Not only did he succeed in becoming a WWE Superstar, he became a tag team champion and now he has the right to say that he’s the only (male) Tough Enough competitor to hold a World Title; being that Melina Perez held the Woman’s Championship Title.  As we all know, Miz is going to be defending his title against John Cena.  Feeling very confident, Miz assures that he is not only going to Wrestlemania 27 as the WWE Champion, but he will be leaving Wrestlemania 27 still the WWE Champion. Enclosing this declaration, he went on to say what I’m sure every fan has been waiting to hear, “...Because I’m The Miz…and I’m….AAAAAWESOOOOOOME!!!!

Next to be introduced was The King of Kings Triple H.  Facing Undertaker this coming Sunday, needless to say…all eyes will be on The Cerebral Assassin.  He is going to be facing a very feared entity that the wrestling world has to offer.  A man who in his new entrance theme, Johnny Cash states a very valid truth, “There ain’t no grave…can hold my body down…“  For no matter who may face him or how bad he may get injured…Undertaker always finds a way to rise up and somehow becomes stronger and more resilient than he was before.  He has established himself in this business so much so that he has earned the right to not just state who is going to be the one to “lay him to rest,” but when as well.  And as he stated on RAW this past week…if there was anyone he would want to end the streak, it would be Triple H.  But as for when, Wrestlemania 27 is not the time.  In knowing how ruthless and merciless Triple H can be when it comes to a match of this same magnitude…I have no doubt that these two men are going to give it everything they got against each other.  My only query is that being the stipulation is NO HOLDS BARRED…that means that a person who is not in the match can interfere without either competitor becoming disqualified.  Being that Shawn Michaels asked Triple H on Monday what makes him think he can do what Shawn couldn’t…it now raises a question as to whether or not we can expect Shawn to pull a swift Sweet Chin Music and to whom.  Only time will tell, and this Sunday that question will be answered.

Next to be announced, was Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.  She along with Trish Stratus and John Morrison will be in a 6 person inter-gender tag team match with Lay-Cool and Dolph Ziggler with Vickie Guerrero at ringside.  She had this to state:

When I appeared on Raw, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.  This nasty broad Vickie Guerrero decided to challenge me at Wrestlemania.  So of course, I couldn’t back down…I had to say yes. So me and my girl Trish Stratus and my boy Morrison; The Brunette Mafia is coming to Wrestlemania and we’re not gonna lose. We’re winning…

Granted most feel that Snooki will not be participating as much in the match as Stratus and Morrison will…but in seeing how she can apparently hold her own against Layla, I don’t doubt that she will fight tooth and nail.  So do not underestimate “the little people.”  For those who have nothing but doubt about Snooki…let me point out that Rey Mysterio is aprime example of someone who most doubted to succeed in this business due to size.  BUT…he proved to be quite the athlete and quickly turned doubters to believers.  So to Snooki…I wish you lots of luck in your match…and don’t be surprised if Vickie tries to interfere.  She can be quite the slick one to try and cheat.  Guess she’s trying to follow in her late husbands footsteps in that aspect.  Let me tell you though…she can try all she likes…but she could never and will never measure up to Eddie’s level of cheating tactics.  But that’s just my opinion.

Next to face the press and fans…none other than John Cena.  I thought that the jeering going on for Michael Cole was bad…boy was I wrong.  I never thought I would hear so many people chanting “AWESOME!” at one time.  Looking back at Miz sitting in his chair, you can tell with the egotistical smile he had on his face that he was just eating up every second of it.  Now knowing he will be facing The Miz for the WWE Championship, both of them have something else that they need to worry about.  And that is the fact that both of them are not in The Rock’s good graces.  John has said numerous things about The Rock such as him leaving the WWE fans around the world hanging while he went off to do movies.  In speaking with John, I asked him if he was prepared for the possibility of The Rock having something up his sleeve in store for him at Wrestlemania.  He had this to say on the subject:

Initially…whatever I said about The Rock…everything had meaning and merit.  I wanted The Rock to come back.  That was my main objective when I say ‘Why do you leave?’ ‘Why do you go elsewhere?’ I love this business and I don’t need to say it because I’m here every week.  Come back please…It took him him five years but he’s like ‘Alright Im back”…so if he feels he’s ready and capable of getting out of the movie chair and into the ring and actually doing something then so be it. This is what I do for a job and I’ll be just fine…

John, I as well as your fans wish you loads of luck in your match against The Miz.  I just feel bad that not only do you have the possibility of Alex Riley being in Miz’s corner, but you have The Rock possibly “cookin” a lesson plan for you as well.  Watching him throughout his career at WWE, John has always been the type of competitor who can hold his own when need be.  So there is no doubt that he will be able to handle anything that may come his way come Sunday.

Last but certainly not least…FINALLY! THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO NEW YORK CITY!  Seeing The Rock in the flesh…there is truly no feeling like it in the world. He is truly is the most electrifying man in (sports) entertainment. The hype in the entire room felt as if it increased 10 fold once he started talking.  In trying to speak, fans all over the room were chanting everything from “ONE MORE MATCH!” to “Thank You Rock!” to “Fruity Pebbles!” and even a “YABBA DABBA DOO!” Having participated in many other prestigious events such as winning a National Championship for the University of Miami and The Oscars, there is still to him NOTHING like participating in Wrestlemania.  He went to state:

The best part about this Sunday…is that when the time is right…I will layeth the smacketh down on somebody’s candy ass…

Certainly implying to everyone that John Cena and most likely The Miz as well will be getting a lesson in manners.

All in all…quite an amazing press conference.  Being able to get to speak to John Cena and Alberto Del Rio one on one was something I know I will treasure.  I wish everyone who is competing at Wrestlemania 27 loads of luck, and I look forward to watching it on my 52” screen with loads of popcorn and a huge bottle of soda!

Give’em Hell Ladies and Gentlemen!

Sincerely Always,

~Bianca C.~
